The Power of Women – Marked with a Purpose

Every day, I have the privilege to work with women who feel a calling on their lives. There is a fire and a passion that burns deep within them. Its voice cries, “There is something more. Something bigger than I can achieve by my own knowledge, skill, or power.” When followed, this calling will lead them into unknown territory. A new land of adventure, led by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and mentored by Jesus.

But what if you sit here today reading this blog post wondering, what is my purpose? Where do I fit in? Or, what is my next step?

EIS The Greek word for purpose is EIS. By definition it means: Towards. A marker of purpose. Moving forward towards a result or goal.

Romans 9:17 (NIV) says, “…I raised you up for this very purpose [EIS], that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”

The first step to understanding your purpose is to recognize that your purpose is not designed by man but by God. You have a unique design, different than any other human being. You were never created to be a cookie-cutter version of someone else. Embrace who God created you to be, don’t run from it!

The second step to moving towards your goal is to decide who you will live your purpose for. Will you live it for the approval of your parents, husband, friends, and work associates, waiting for what you can receive? Or will you live it as a life giver and world changer focused solely on the direction given by God?

The third step is to take the mental leap outside the traditional box of available job positions. God did not design every person to fit five job descriptions in the church or in business. For example, If God has given a person a vision to speak or to teach, I will often hear that person say they think that means they are meant to be the next Beth Moore, a Lead Pastor at a church or a teacher. But I want to encourage you that the gift of teaching can be unwrapped in many ways. It may be true that God will promote you into a traditional position and I would encourage you to be open to it but when you listen to God’s voice, instead man or self, you may see a completely new path laid in front of you that isn’t what you expected.

Lastly, if you are still struggling with the purpose that God has given you, talk to someone about it. A coach, a mentor, or an encouraging friend can listen and help you prayerfully discern the direction that you should go!

My passion and hope is that you will see and believe the truth about who you are. And that you will have the knowledge that God has marked you with a purpose to make a difference on this earth so that when they know you, they will also know Him.

Today, walk in the knowledge that you are marked with a purpose!
